Good Day ladies and gents okay its been a minute but ya know Ive been on my grind and doing my thang thang. Last week I had the greatest oppurtunity to attend a EVENT ! yes I said a EVENT ! The Iconic MC Rakim the Microphone Fiend performed at Club Sonar in Baltimore MD and he did not dissapoint ! OK! First off the evening started off with the honarary man of dance rap CHUBB ROCK. CHUBB was on his A game and I of course got the oppurtunity to take the place of his boy HOT DOGG who back in the day used to get the crowd lifted with his frat boy step routine. Well Hott Dogg you officially lost your membership because your boy Gee put it down ! In anycase back to the performance at hand after performing all his standards Treat Em Right, Chubbster, The Two of Us and more baby ! after that set man I was most def trying to hear Rakim do his thing. My man The Legendary Busy Bee MC d and held the crowds attention till Rakim took the stage. BUSY BEE never dissapoints his call and response is still like being back at The ROOFTOP and Disco Fever back in the day for you OL Skoolers who know what it is ! AIGHT ! Now Rakim the Microphone Fiend Himself is the man ! yall can say Jay Z, Big, Tupac or whoever but this is the man that lead the way with his street gangster rhetoric inspired by his connection to muslim roots. As a five percenter back in the day Rakim was a revolutionary bringing voice to the struggles of a man trying to make it out the hood anyway he could with the intelligence the streets gave him. Performing all his standard hits Eric B is President, Follow the Leader, Let the Rythym Hit Em , Dont Sweat The Technique man my boy threw down on the mic ! OH MY GAWD He had the crowd amped with his technique and swagger. The show was one of the best rap shows I have seen in a minute these new schoolers Lil Wayne, Boosie, Plies yall better take notes on how to hold a audience and give a show thats all I have to say on the subject.
